Our Recommended Coating
Designed for heavy traffic
Produced in Sweden, Bona Traffic is the ideal all-round floor coating solution. Traffic is a commercial-grade hard-wearing finish that has been used on more than 250 million square metres of timber flooring at residential and commercial sites all over the world.
Bona two-component water-based finishes offer excellent wear resistance, are non-yellowing and non-toxic. Bona products are available in over 90 countries and are the Number 1 choice for professional contractors.
Easy to clean
Easy to maintain
Modern floor finishes are easier to care for and maintain than the floor finishes of the past.
Modern floor finishes are highly resistant to scratching and dirt cannot work its way into their surface. The easiest way to care for your floor is to minimise the frequency that you use water for cleaning and using a dry soft mop to remove any potential abrasives. Questions?
Here are the answers …
The time taken to sand every floor varies depending on the layout, number of rooms, timber type and finish selected. On average, I sand around 20sqm per day with an additional day taken to fine sand and do the corners. There are always two days required for coating, So an average floor area of 80sqm would take five days to sand (including fine sanding), plus two days to coat, for a total of seven working days.
The floors that I coat, can be used for light foot traffic the day after the top coating is applied. Always confirm with your contractor what day this is likely to be, prior to moving furniture. Most floor finishes will achieve their full strength after about one week, so care must be taken not to use furniture which slides on the floor (such as chairs), during this time.
Well, maybe., but most often, no. The floors best suited to limewashing are those that are consistent in board colour and blonde timber species. This is very few species of timber in Australia. American Oak, French Oak are examples of timber types which are good candidates for limewashing. Any timber species that has a mix of colours in the boards, or contains any hint of red boards, is NOT a candidate for lime washing. Attempting to limewash a floor that has any red colour to the timber, will result in a pink floor.
We use the latest machines and “dust-free” techniques to minimise the creation of dust. Most of our clients are amazed at how small the amount of dust is, that is not collected by the machines. We aim to keep our workplace clean, so that you can enjoy your new floor as soon as possible.
