Custom Staining

Staining your floor offers you an exciting opportunity to completely change the look of your property. There are several staining techniques available, which provide a wide variety of colours, from black to white and every shade in between.

The colour you wish to achieve for your floor is limited by the timber species. For example, all timbers are able to be stained black, however timber types with red boards or red tones, are not good candidates to be lime washed. Attempting to limewash a floor with red tones, will result in a pink coloured floor.

The best timber species for staining are blonde or light-coloured species such as Tasmanian Oak, American Oak, or Blackbutt. Consideration should also be given to the grain (character) of the timber and how a stain may be able to enhance this.
